Our office takes a different approach than other chiropractors in Cary. We exclusively utilize the Gonstead Method in Cary. The Gonstead Method goes above and beyond by conducting a thorough analysis of the spine using five criteria. The analysis begins with a digitized posture analysis to reveal compensations and biomechanical stresses. Step two, we use a tool designed to measure temperature differences on the spine. This indicates inflammation, a symptom of nerve pressure. The third step is gently feeling the spine in a neutral position.
This process called static palpation reveals areas of inflammation, swelling, and tenderness. Step four is gently moving the spine to check range of motion. Joints that don’t move well are suspect. Step five, we review your x-rays. In our office we take full spine x-rays. Think of this as a panoramic view of the spine rather than a simple point and shoot view. Being able to view the entire spine is important because where it hurts not always where the problem is.
Neck pain for instance can come from a problem in the low back and vice versa. The full spine x-ray we use reveals posture changes, joint and disc integrity, and vertebral misalignment. Once the problem is identified, it is corrected using the highest level of precision and the least amount of force, so you can get back to the things you love.
